Like many people, you might be excited to get your spring cleaning done. You are getting ready to block dates in your calendar to go through all your stuff and organize everything. While your home is getting the love and care it needs, don’t forget to do the same for your smile. Doing so will help your oral health become better! Here are three tips to make your teeth and gums stronger for the year ahead.

1.)   Refresh Your Oral Hygiene Routine

If it’s been a while since you last replaced your toothbrush, then you should go ahead and do that! It’s important you get a new one every three to four months as the bristles start to lose their effectiveness over time. You can also upgrade your tools to an electric one if you haven’t already!

You can also consider buying a new toothpaste, floss, or mouthwash. While this may seem small, they can keep your oral hygiene changing and hopefully make you want to take time to care for your smile every day.

2.)  Deep Clean Your Bathroom and Toothbrush Holder

While you may clean your bathroom regularly, how often do you do the same for your toothbrush holder? It might be easy to forget at times, but it’s important to wipe it down to protect your oral health. The container is exposed to other bacteria and germs on nearby surfaces, so they can transfer to your toothbrush itself!

Give this cup a good scrubbing in warm, soapy water or run it through the dishwasher if yours can handle it. Clean the rest of your bathroom, and you’re all set.

3.)  Schedule Your Next Routine Checkup

When it comes to making sure your oral health is in great shape, your dentist is one of your greatest allies. By seeing them twice every year, they will be able to check for dental problems like cavities and gum disease. If there are any worrying signs, then you can get the prompt treatment you need to avoid any problems. Better yet, you will also get an in-depth cleaning and make sure your oral habits aren’t causing problems.

In the end, your smile could use some loving while you get your spring cleaning done. Getting it over sooner rather than later can help you feel more confident knowing that there’s nothing to worry about; that way, you feel your best showing it off.
